Noam Aharon

His paintings begin with a single color placed on the canvas. Everything follows from that decision.

Working in acrylic and mixed media, Aharon builds surfaces until they hold something between geology and atmosphere — imaginary terrain that feels ancient and familiar at once. His principal series, Tierra Extraña (Strange Land), takes its name from the experience of recognising somewhere you have never been.

Born in Tel Aviv in 1953, he trained as an industrial designer at California State University Long Beach, graduating with honors. After thirty years building technology companies, he returned to what he had always quietly known he would do. He has studied under Lewis Noble in Wales and Master Jingxiao in Shenzhen, China.

His work has been exhibited at the 59th Venice Biennale, Galeria Azur Madrid and Berlin, Boomer Gallery London, and Superfine New York. He is represented by Galerie SARTO Paris and Galeria Azur.

He lives and works in Herzliya, Israel.
